As the topic says: When adding feats outside of normal progression, D&D Beyond shouldn't prevent the player from choosing a feat just because they don't meet one or more prerequisite. Adding feats outside the normal progression is to enable groups to reproduce house rules on their D&D Beyond sheet, breaking RAW. That being the case, arbitrarily enforcing rules is pointless. Let us pick any feat, and leave it up to our groups/DMs to check the character meets prerequisites if they still choose to enforce them.
Case in point: my DM gives everyone a bonus racial feat, but not all races have them. In these cases we're allowed to pick any feat that is thematic for our race. I intend to take Fade Away (normally a Gnome feat) for my Firbolg. Presently, the system prevents me from manually adding it so the only way I can do this is to reproduce it in a custom feat.
You can deactivate feat prerequisites in the character sheet options (in the same place where you manage XP/Milestone, or privacy options). You can deactivate it, add any feat you choose, and reactivate it later if you need it to be 'on' for general progression.
Still not sure why prerequisites should be a thing in manual editing at all, since the whole thing breaks the rules. But good to know there's an option for me!

Hello Spilledale!

I hope that helps!
Ooh, thanks Mellie!
