As a Vedalken you get the plus d4 to a skill and tools. There is nothing that shows as a reminder to this on the character screen. Any chance an asterix is added so you can click and see "plus d4 vedalken race" as a reminder?
The dragonmarked races of eberron have a similar problem. You can make a note on skill tab (with a custom skill) if you need help remembering.
