Thank you to the team for all of their work in bringing this tool into existence!
1. I'm curious, what happens once the team is happy with the state of Phases 1, 2, and 3 of the beta? Will it then be time to add content, set pricing, and launch? Or are there other steps involved?
1a. I found a post from about 7 weeks ago mentioning the roadmap could not be revealed. Could it be partially revealed? For example, we can all imagine there are some basic steps to launching this product, so even if items such as streaming integration are being kept under wraps, can the basic steps be ordered? And/or, can it be revealed for the next say, 3 months?
2. What is the vision for the D&D Beyond experience? Why is the team building this tool and what are the guiding principles when deciding what features to incorporate?
2a. I see many suggestions from beta testers for various features such as messaging, offline mode, etc. Is D&D Beyond aiming to be the one electronic tool for all D&D needs? Or is there a more focused vision such as Compendium, Character, and Campaign management? I know that this may change over time, so feel free to bound my question to team launch goals if that helps.
3. Will there potentially be any sweeping UX changes between now and launch? Or are things mostly finalized, excepting tweaks?
There is no roadmap to reveal. That's one thing the Developers have always wanted to avoid. They never wanted to get our hopes up, promise something at a specific time, then be unable to keep that promise. It just looks bad, and makes us, the customer, feel bad. With that being said, there will be an announcement (when they are ready) revealing the prices. From there, we head into release, and the Developers will continue adding stuff as we go.
The team is developing this tool because they want to make everything easier for the players. Check the quote thread (link in my signature) to see what all they plan.
