If you block someone on a Discord server you get a big black bar whenever the person posts that says, "Blocked Message." If you ignore someone on these forums, you still see their posts to thread updates in the listings and can't correctly link to or jump to posts because the post numbers will be off. If you've ever been the target of an abuser, then you'll understand how traumatic these factors alone can be, but the fact that the abuser can read your comments on both platforms and use them to undermine you in any conversation you try to have, is quite literally enabling and empowering the abuser over the abused. All control is, essentially, taken from the abused and given to the abuser. What's worse is that often people will take the abusers side because of this empowerment as the abuser has the space to manipulate the conversation and other people's ignorance of their abuse or of your blocking/ignoring of them. This is then used by the abuser as a wedge to continue their abuse.
At what point in the trajectory of Discord's or DDB's success will this fact be reckoned with? Twitter and Facebook are facing backlash because of their enabling of bigotry but when does Discord or DDB get held accountable for their lack of action over this egregious mishandling of their platform and lack of care of targets of abuse? I'm posting this here because my private conversations with moderators over this issue has served to belittle me and my concerns and further empower my abusers against me. I guess we'll see if this post gets deleted so that the issue can be hidden like it has so far, or if it will finally be officially addressed in an appropriate and morally responsible manner.

The Staff and Moderators at D&D Beyond take all reports of harassment seriously. This forum is our home, and if anyone here feels harassed or threatened please contact a moderator privately as they can take appropriate actions to keep our community members safe. The ignore feature on our forums is one tool that members can use, and we will look into improving it's functionality, however it's best used for less serious issues than abuse. Sadly our tools are limited on Discord as that is not a platform we created, but our moderation team is very active there as well and the same rules apply.
