It appears this is a common request for years for accessibility as well that gets frequent responses that it's "on the radar" but for some reason can't get prioritized.
I do feel at this point DND Beyond has no desire to add this as it throws in your face all the things you need to purchase any time you decide to actually use the content you've already purchased. I do not feel this is substantially a difficult change as they already query whether or not every item you search is owned. It undoubtedly would make the life of their user base substantially better.
Honestly, if I didn't already own every book, I would want to know that there are more rules in books I don't have.
The real problem is the search is so terrible that useless results fill the page so relevant results arent even shown. People asking for this probably don't even realize that the content they don't have shouldn't even be a result anyway.

Anniversary check-In. I know that this feature would probably prevent an impulse sale or two, but don't you think a good user experience for the "not-all-ins" is worth something, too?

I actually would have preferred to own less content at this point, at least then i wouldn't have to select every book I own. Seriously gives me pause to spend more money.
definitely seconded, need an "owned content" filter setting for planning encounters. a royal pain otherwise!
Because this feature is missing, as well as the encounter running screen is currently so bad, has me turning to external tools for this rather than using DNDbeyond where i actually own hundreds of $ of content
I was so, so close to pulling the trigger on a bunch of new content with the recent sale, and then decided not to because my experience of ownership via this tool has been so poor. Until the filtering and sorting of owned content is improved, the odds of any further purchases will be very low. The only reason why I'm even continuing to use this is the sunk content cost. Which I suspect WOTC already knows, and in itself this represents a good reason to limit further purchases.
As you all have likely seen, WotC has announced its goal is to "monetize" D&D. My guess is that its business model pushes for the absence of this filter - just like .pdf copies for purchase are also off the table. (This latter thing is one thing Paizo got right!)
Does anyone know if there has been any news about this, especially with WoTC acquiring? It's a huge functional issue and the encounter builder/manager is one of the main draws about the site.
Just adding my voice in here. Very frustrating every time I want to build a new encounter to scroll through the list and only pick the content I own. Drives me away from the platform, I've started paying to support Improved Initiative instead.
Years later, bought the monster manual thinking I could set up some encounters with friends... ... then this -_- If you make it user friendly, I promise more people will want to buy stuff to play.
Still a pain, when you like to save some search results as PDFs so you can hand it to people you play with, so they know, what content options is available in the group.
How about having the results split, having first the content you own and then a list separator "you might also be interested in the following material you do not own"?
And perhaps a toggle button to include content you do not own or not? I simply do not even know, if I have specific ressources, whenever I use the advanced search, so I always have to go to sources, show all sources, search for the content and try to access it to see if it opens, or shows the "buy now" option... And then go back to the advanced filter... Also, on some ressources I might only buy part of the content, not the whole book, So that makes it even harder to remember if I own specific content from that book...
But... like other things... It might still be requested for years, after OneDnD is final (and they have bling-bling-polished their 3d VTT love-child)
Guess what! I've solved this! You can very easily create a bookmarklet which will automagically set the source filters to a preset list with a single click.
I described the process in full in this reddit post, but in case it disappears, here is the bookmarklet code:

Which would be as easy as not using the filter...

I am commenting to express my desire to have such a feature on this website. Like so so many others.
worst part is you can do it on mobile but not pc....

I have come to suspect that the lack of filtering on purchased content is a dark pattern that is implemented in order to encourage more sales.
I put in a support request here: https://dndbeyond-support.wizards.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
They've responded before to tech problems, so I'll update if there's any news on this matter.
I'd like to be voice #77 to express that this is an essential feature the lack of which prevents me from buying more content to remember to check.

Yes! For the love of pixies and cute little unicorn bunnies, please!

I'm not buying more books that just mean it's harder to filter. Genuinely the search is unusable at this point. In encounter builder and everywhere.

Apologies for replying to this long-dead thread, but I figure if you've replied to it then you may want to know!
