I have a rod of tentacle equipped and attuned. Is there no "action" for it? I'm stuck creating a custom action for it, which is fine but there is no way to 'override hit' like a regular attack or spell (for the straight +9), I must use a stat.. which it doesn't use. For the most part, I got it working just fine with the 1d6 bludgeoning damage but the Hit is stuck at --... It does not let me add the straight +9 override but forcing me to use a governing stat.
I made it as a 'general' action. Should I do it as a weapon attack? but then it asks if it's unarmed or natural and it automatically adds my STR mod even without me setting it as such.
Ugh but you can override actual spells and actions
Yea it bothers me the way that prayer beads and moon blade works. The items say that it gives specific spells/bonuses yet the DDB item either gives none (moon blade) or gives all (prayer beads).
ALSO the beads say you can cast each spell granted ONCE and as a bonus action. The charge count applies for the entire item so the spells share the pool.. And they're still actions...
The earth magic ring from Yawning Portal (hidden shrine) lets you cast a specific spell 3 times THEN after those charges deplete another spell 10 times then then ring goes inert.. Youre stuck with both spells and a a charge pool of 13.....

DDB has not coded items to be able to add actions (they need to). They also need to make custom actions have hit overrides/modifiers.
