I'm not trying to insult anyone or the options available, but I just don't understand what the benefit of this bot is. The ability to generate ability scores via rolls with 4d6 is nice, though I didn't see anything about the ability to arrange as desired which is a key part lf that generation method. I generally use Discord and D&D Beyond in combination with Roll20's Virtual Tabletop, so perhaps there's a stle of play I'm overlooking. Is the Bot mostly intended to assist with Play by Post? Just confused, but happy to hear where and how others expect to use this.
Avrae allows you to totally rely on it for dice rolls, although sometimes it is finnicky with certain class features. Every Discord server I'm in uses Avrae as their bot, especially since you can just import your character sheet with a link.

Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"

So is it something where you'll benefit from it more if you aren't on a paid tier for D&D Beyond where character sheets can be shared within a unified campaign? And do you play on a VTT or just imagination? I'm just curious how it fits in. For me, my games usually have D&D Beyond, Roll20, a word doc, sticky notes, and Discord open where I'm just using discord for Voice. I'm looking at using the discord bots for music ambience as well, but still have a bit of learning to do there.
Most of us play Theater of the Mind. Heck, even on my own tables I typically do theater of the mind.

Not a problem friend. Parts of Avrae really do need additional programming (such as a barbarian's rage feature, the rogue's sneak attack argument, etc), but in general, I tend to like Avrae even if she is a cruel mistress.

There's an entire Avrae discord server, as well as some channels on the DNDBeyond discord server, dedicated to figuring out how to use Avrae, what it's all about, and anything else you might need to know about it.
Application-wise, at least for my games, the point of Avrae is that I can run games for my (relatively new) players and the *only* thing they need to have open is Discord. They created their characters here on DNDBeyond and imported them into the Avrae bot on Discord and now everything else happens there: theater of the mind combat, exploration, RP, etc. all using the combination of Avrae + photo/screen sharing + voice channels. We were previously using 3-5 different things to run games, as you are, and now have the simplicity of just one.
is there any news on when avrae will be able to use all paid content that we have?
Only that it is on the roadmap. Beyond never gives full release dates except for when the Books from WotC come out.

I actually really like Avrae, not only for its connection to multiple tools (DnDBeyond, GSheets, and DiceCloud) but also that it gives you some front end access to the Discord API, which gives you access to things like embeds, plus their aliasing is pretty refined IMO.
The main fatal flaw I've just run into when trying to use this for the first time is the inability to use Homebrew monsters from DDB. They want them from a different site that I don't use and I don't want to have to port all that content over. I use mostly Homebrew monsters right now too since I have Pokemon, Monster Hunter World, and Moana (yes you heard that right) content. The monsters are in my collection, so I was hoping I could locate them in the bestiary, but no dice.
Honestly, while I've tried Avrae, I prefer using the Beyond 20 chrome addon. For games where i use Roll20 it rolls directly from the character sheet into R20 and for discord games it sends the rolls to the channel. As someone who's dyslexic, it's much easier for me to just use the character sheet to roll instead of remembering commands lol
Plus because it just uses the sheet, whatever is there is what's rolled so it uses purchased content and as a GM I can send the monster rolls through too regardless of whether it's homebrew or not.
Are they in the same window in Chrome? It was a tripping point for me for a while as I had the 2 Windows open side by side by they need to be 2 tabs in the same window for it to work.

Okay just curious on how I might work this into my own setup. Thanks, DevanAvalon!

Maybe there should be a Avrae forum?

I can't get Beyond 20 to work for anyone. Maybe it needs an update or something?
It rolls some dice, but nothing appears in the chat feed on R20.

Yeah theyre tabs side by side. It pops up in R20 that something happened and dice roll sometimes, but it doesn't fully push it over.
I'll PM you instead of clogging up the chat.
