Currently if I am on my campaigns page, I can see each character sheet that is active/inactive, along with notes from the DM to the players. One thing that bums me out is that I can see important details of the character, that the player may not want everyone to know. I can see their lvl, race, class, and subclass. It would be nice if there was an option to hide everything but the character name and player name.
An example of why this can be useful, say someone is playing a Changeling but they are hiding out as a dwarf in a dwarvish city and I don't want anyone to know in/out of game, that I'm a changeling until a "reveal". With the race/class visible, that information is spoiled for the rest of the players, who now have to act like they don't know the information. If you have a great party (and I hope everyone does!) they won't abuse that information, or metagame with that information. However, not all people are as generous like that, and having the option to hide this information would remove the temptation all together.
There are workarounds. For example making a homebrew race named dwarf with no traits. Or just selecting the race you are pretending to be and not using any of its traits (override the ASIs).
It isn't a bad idea, but the actual need to hide 100% of character information is pretty small (less than 1% of campaigns).
