It would be very nice if I could enable/disable each and every sourcebook I've purchased when creating a character.
Currently, because I've purchased Xanthar's Guide to Everything, all those options appear everywhere in the character creator (Race, Class, Subclasses, Feats, Backgrounds, Spells, etc.)
If I don't want to use anything that's from XGtE, it would be very nice if I could disable it (like I can Eberron content) on the character creator's first page.
This request is coming from the point-of-view of creating a character for the D&D Adventurer's League, which restricts characters to PHB+1. So if I chose PHB+Tasha's, then I don't want to see XGtE options.
A tooltip should be added after each source category that lists the source books included in the category. This could be an info-icon that shows the list when you hoover over it. It could be restricted to the source books you have access to. However, I would prefer if it lists all source books but differentiates between the ones you own, the once you have access to through sharing (italics?) and the ones you don't have access to (strike through).
I would also like to have a more granular control as the original suggestion states. Add an advanced selection button that expands the sources section showing all sourcebooks within a category with a toogle to (dis)enable that source book. Using DnDBeyond to create a character with restrictions imposed by the DM is frustrating since most content lack a source tag. It sucks to be told after you have created a character that it isn't viable for the campaign.
It would be great to be able to include specific categories. e.g. spells, magic items. And be able to exclude character options and feats. Only an example but a bit more granularity would be nice.
I am not certain but I think the DM for a campaign can make those restrictions but the your character has to be tied to a campaign for you to be aware of them. I haven't tried it out so I am only guessing. But even if I guess correctly that won't help you if your are preparing for a game not hosted on DnDBeyond.
