It's an eyesore when you have both disadvantage and advantage on something to have the double icon on the character sheet. Why doesn't it just show nothing at all since they cancel each other out? The purpose of a virtual character sheet is to streamline D&D and make it easy to notice things you might forget. Having the green and red icon on something (with a sidebar explaining how they cancel each other out) is unnecessary and distracting.

Having disadvantage and advantage isn't the same as not having anything. There is a slight but important detail to be aware of and it's that when you have advantage and disadvantage at the same time, it doesn't matter how many other advantages or disadvantages you get, you'll always roll a straight roll. That's why displaying it is important, it's giving you that information.
Yep, Kuroikyu has hit the nail on the head. If you have neither advantage or disadvantage, that means its still possible for you to get it. However, having both may mean you're still getting a flat role, but you can't get advantage or disadvantage on that roll unless you get rid of one of those sources of (dis)advantage.

Yeah. an example is when you have a deep gnome in chain mail armor. Because of the armor, you have disadvantage on stealth, but with the deep gnome, you can blend into rocks and have advantage on stealth in rocky areas. I f you were not in a rocky area, you would have disadvantage, but if you were, they would cancel each other out.
