So on the old reader App, you could download straight onto your SD card, but I don't see that option on the new one. If I just couldn't find it that's fine, but if the Option isn't there, that's a huge oversight and should be the first thing they work on.
FWIW, I second the request to be able to download the book files to the SD Card.

I'll add my voice to this chorus. The ability to save to an SD card is critical, IMO. Until that happens, I'll need to continue to use both apps. Thank you for having it on your roadmap though, at least we know it's a consideration.
Yes, I absolutely agree with the people above me. And in my opinion, this starts becoming a problem as soon as the next book comes out because I doubt they will put it on the old app. For now, the old App can still be used, but as soon as new books start coming out we need SD Card support. Most people I know have pretty limited Internal Storage and can't really excuse 3+ Gig.
I'll join in too. It's a pretty gigantic oversight, to the point that it's premature to call the new app "finished" until the feature is implemented. Given the number and size of the external files needed to make the app function as advertised/intended, this is the kind of thing that a user should be able to just assume is an available option.
Or at the very least, full support -- including new content releases -- for the old app that does allow this shouldn't be removed until the new one has all of the features that one did.
Definitely, I planned on deleting the old App when the Update is released, but now I'm pretty glad I tried it out first. I would have thought that it would be there from the start.
I am glad to see that the developers are taking this issue seriously, but I still would like to chime in with the followin observation:
The "core" segments: the Basic Rules, the PHB, DMG, and MM already take up together more than 800MB of capacity. If we add, say, Tasha or Xanathar, a campaign setting, and an adventure - which is not unreasonable at all, IMO - we are talking about more than 1GB. That's quite a chunk of the total internal memory of my tablet and as such I actually cannot use the app.
This is a showstopper for me. I deleted the old app because I didn't realize this was an issue. Now, I'm dead-in-the-water because I can't find the old app to reinstall it.
I use D&D Beyond on my old tablet which doesn't have enough space on the main storage so I used an SD card.... Since you released your new app, I excitedly deleted the old apps and switched to the new one and now I have discovered that I'm stuck not being able to use any of the content that I've purchased D&D Beyond because you took down the old versions of the apps from the Google Play store... Good job: you have made the product you sold me unusable.
An update: you will be able to move the app to the SD card very soon.
Very happy to hear that. I know there are many people unhappy with certain features not being implemented fast enough (which to be fair is a bit understandable), but the team should also hear that there are people who appreciate what they are doing.
I'm just wondering when I can download the VGtR book into the new app, I have it downloaded into the old reader app but it doesn't even show in the new app?

Make sure you have the latest manifest file downloaded and installed. You can do it in Library.

It's on the roadmap. Not the most immediate but we remember about it.

Thank you, daf_dafydd. I'm glad to know it's on the roadmap. I've only downloaded a small portion of the content I own, and it's over 1 GB so far.

Adding my chip in here too. Downloading to the SD card is a must for me, my internal memory would get filled up by downloading everything I own.

Glad to hear it's on the roadmap, but still disappointed it's not there from the start.

Why this wasn't considered a critical feature is beyond me, but there's absolutely no excuse for not making it clear that the feature is missing.

It's all definitely noted and it seems to have been an oversight on our end.
Thank you for your patience.

For me, it was available right from the start. I didn't even know the old app was still getting updates with the new books.
