Am I missing it? For surely there are boxes in the HP area on this app to reset stats based on a character taking a:
- Short Rest
- Long Rest
I guess is not present in the current version of the app, and I understand that triggering a “rest” is a feature that touch many things on the app, not just one. Will appear one day
I was speaking of a synchronisation issue that I wasn’t able to replicate, just happened once
I think you must link your account for it to recognise that different authentication methods should relate to the same account.
You can do it through Profile > My account on the web.
I did think of this before I tried, but when I looked I didn't see an Apple account option?
Weird, let me figure it out with the appropriate team.
If it helps, I checked My Account in Safari on my MacBook Pro, not on my iPhone, though looking now via my phone I still don’t see an Apple authentication option. I can see my Twitch and Google accounts that I’ve associated with D&D Beyond - and the newly added Discord option, which I’ve just used successfully!
Hey all - thought I’d give an update on this. I can now see the option to link an Apple ID in my account, but it fails because the ID was already linked to the new account created when I tried to login with my ID through the app. I might be able to fix this myself, but I don’t see how I’ll be able to delete the new unneeded account - if I disconnect my Apple ID from it, I won’t have any login credentials to use to access it and request it be deleted. Might need some help there!
Anyway, worth looking at what happens when users try to login with their Apple ID and gI’ve an option to link an existing account rather than creating a new one! (I do think I was prompted as to whether I wanted to create one, but since I had no way to link my account at the time, I said yes as I thought that might do the trick... More fool me, but sone folk might get that far and not realise what they’re saying yes to and wonder where all their characters have gone...)
Daf_dafydd, you guys could use offline distribution of the application. I mean, i understand that you want to keep the security and integrity of the app and linked to our google/apple accounts. However in this time of development it might be useful to distribute this way. Maybe even make the app require a login that links to our D&D beyond logins.
My version of the App will not allow me to sign in either through my linked Google account nor directly nor through my Twitch account.
I want to do so in order to view my purchases of Xanathar and Sword Coast -- which apparently can only be viewed in the App, not here through the web.
Firstly, you're probably in the wrong thread, this is the thread for the in-alpha Player's App, you're referring to the Compendium App.
If you're having issues signing into the app, I suggest you try clearing the cache of the app. Sometimes a bad authentication token can get cached causing issues.

Thank you! We analysed different options for distribution. This one seemed to guarantee highest reliability. In fact, nobody suspected COVID and the delay whereas it is a bit too late to change the approach now.
Anyway, we are thinking about taking some steps if the app is not approved tomorrow. Tomorrow is 14 days since submission so it is likely something's wrong and even Google do not realise this.

I do hope that it is approved but for sure i would love to get my hands on this app. I can see so much usefulness in it for playing and possibly even DMing later down the line.

Yeah, I figured out I was on the wrong thread. *blush*
I went and tried that, using my browser, and was pleased to see that the whole thing was there, not just an index (which is what the opening page looks like) I'd still like to download a PDF that I could view offline, but that will do.
Using Android. When I go into the hit points making adjustments is fine. The override, max hp modifier, and temp hp work great.
Using the app offline after you make changes to a character's HP as long as you stay on that character it tracks just fine. If you back out and go to the character select area then back into the character you just edited the changes are lost.
On screen lock the changes can still be seen so long as you don't leave the character screen.
Minimizing the app on the character screen is fine the changes are still there so long as you remain on the character screen.
If you close apps using the mass close feature and then go back to the app any changes will be lost.
This was all offline testing. I'm not sure if this will apply if you have a data or WiFi connection. Not in a position to test that at the moment.

Out of curiosity. Is exhaustion currently disabled? The levels of exhaustion are grayed out and disabled on all of my characters. I'm specifically referring to modifying exhaustion in the conditions list. Exhaustion shows correctly in app if a character does have exhaustion.
I have a lot of characters including many NPCs for the campaigns I run. I'd like to see a way to organize the characters into different tabs (by campaigns, etc.). It's also a request for the main web page too :-).
Also, it would be useful to have an index/sort based on different criteria like name, campaign, level, class, etc. Just something to reduce the scrolling when you have dozens or hundreds of characters in the list.
FYI: I love the dark theme of the app!

Any news about the update for android?
Thank you very much for all your feedback and reports.

Also, you can view those books through the web; if you go to Sources from the menu at the top of this page, you'll see both Xanathar's Guide to Everything and Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide

Android app has been approved. You can install it from the link in the email if you don't feel like waiting for them to send another invite.

Haha, I saw you noticed this. We still wanted to do some testing but the good new is:
The Android app is approved!
To be honest, we needed to do a small but risky trick but it paid off.
We'll be sending a confirmation email to everyone later today.
Those of you who received invites before can download the app from here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.fandom.playercompanion
We're going to continue sending new invites today and tomorrow to catch up asap.
Is there a changelog for what has changed?

Fingers crossed I get an invite... 😥
Android user, here. Just got the test-app. Looks great! Can't wait for the app to have the same interactivity as the site.
Out of curiosity, do y'all at Curse have a general window for when you expect the app to be more feature-complete/widely available?

What version of Android OS does the app use?
