Just got my app invite! The layout looks awesome! Though I haven't checked every detail. My characters seem to import without issue into the app. Looking forward to seeing the future great work you all will do on this. I'm very excited that you all keep bringing D&D to the 21st Century.
Out of curiosity. Is exhaustion currently disabled? The levels of exhaustion are grayed out and disabled on all of my characters. I'm specifically referring to modifying exhaustion in the conditions list. Exhaustion shows correctly in app if a character does have exhaustion.
Are you sure you're online? Both exhaustion and conditions are disabled when you go offline as they need server connection. If you are online though, conditions should be 100% active.
I really love the dark mode, would love to see that as an option on the website . My eyes aren't so good and the dark mode helps with strain.
I have found out that if you have the font size increased on your phone, like I do, it messes up the display location of some items. And it can cause the names of longer features to get cut off and only leave the small notation beside it. For example, one of my characters is a blood hunter and his crimson rite feature title only reads "Cri... 1d10 hemocraft die CR".
Editing and creating characters then moving back to the app works very well. You can see the changes immediately and it loads quickly.
Overall, I am very happy with it and am looking forward to seeing the final product.
I do have one question, a few of my players are visually impaired/blind and so I was wondering how accessible the app is going to be for someone using VoiceOver on the iPhone or TalkBack on an Android?
It would be useful to order characters on the list my recently created, or search characters. Or even long-press, then drag and drop the order of characters.
Just got the app on Android. Love the layout and how fast it loads. No glitches, so far! Looking forward to see what you have in store for us. Great job!
Android App - Unable to tick off spell slots or conditions/exhaustion. Hitpoints work fine. Unable to change infusions, cannot equip/unequip items, unable to use innate abilities like flash of genius.
If I signed up with my yahoo account because that is what I use for beyond and not a Google account I can not download the app? I got the email for the invite but when I click to download the app it says it is unavailable.
I read through quite a few previous posts and didn't see this small convenience item tweek.
It would be nice if while swiping left, once you reach the extras page (the last page), you swipe left again to reach Abilities, Saves, and Sences page (first page). It would be nice, so those who main a Druid don't have to swipe right 10 time to go between their own stats and their wild shape stats. Same for playing a Beast Master Ranger, or when you have a familiar, pet, or somon in battle with you.
Other then that, I have noticed alot that has already been mentioned and responded to.
Over all, app works great, looks good, and as soon as more editabilit is added it will work great.
Is there a specific list of tasks you want us to try out while we use the app? I'm assuming going offline, making an adjustment, going back online, and seeing if it syncs correctly is high on the list, but I'm not sure what else needs to be tested out.
The HP went back to full. Is that the current expected behavior? Meaning, it will change the app HP back to whatever it was last online, regardless of when you made changes on the app.
I presume long term it will update the server with the app data, so long as the time stamp indicates that the app data is the most up to date. But I understand this is in alpha, so not sure if it's a bug or just the current expected behavior.
Will be great to have the character sheet backgrounds supported, the dark mode is a little tough for my eyes. Also, I have almost 300 characters and I would prefer if the sorting method was the same on both the app and the website so I don't have to go diggingcor the right character. Currently my app displays alphabetically and the website is by date created. Sorting my date makes more sense for me, just because of the volume.

There's always the use of.the navigator (the small.red squares on the right, near the top), but that's one extra click. Not sure how simple is circular navigation on android apps though.

--[ Natural 20 - that's how I roll! ]-- We've stopped this OGL madness, but stay vigilant, they tried it once, they can try it again.
I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but the ability to hide and unhide unnecessary information. Currently there is far too much information displayed which ends up making the user experience quite tiring, endlessly scrolling around to find what you are looking for. Which is the biggest issue the character sheet on the website has.
The most notable offenders to this are the Action, Features & Traits, and Spellcasting sections. I find them so messy to navigate I have my own list down on paper. Just a plain list, no information, no resource management, no PHB reference pages, I then refer back or search the D&D Beyond app to get the information I need because it's so much quicker. At least the Spellcasting section has something called "manage spells" which you can use to list known spells, which is still a nuisance to navigate to.
After that gets implemented a nice feature would be to be able to order/categorize these lists yourself. This would be especially helpful for the Equipment section.
Making this app have some kind of modular design would be cool, I can dream.
I also don't understand why you seem to always allocate so much screen real estate to the Senses section, there is arguably way more used features or options for that space. Even Proficiencies and Languages would do better using that space.
I'm just wanting clarification because I am not seeing the same thing at all, are you saying that there's too much info in general on each page or only during character creation? Because I just looked through my whole list of characters trying to compare what I see to your post to offer any additional feedback but all of my character's are pretty streamlined it seems.
I am online. In app, I can add or modify conditions just fine. But I can't add or modify exhaustion because it seems disabled. If I modify exhaustion on the webpage and go back to the app. It shows the exhaustion accordingly. However, I am still unable to modify the exhaustion in app. Couple of other things. Is Inventory management and spell assignment currently in the app? Also I see that attunements, equipment, and spell slots are currently displayed but are they meant to be disabled? I can't modify any of those either.

I'm guessing you are referring to The0ddSloth's post. My understanding of the post is that the UI on the web page and the player app is too cluttered and not modular enough.

When linking to the Character Generator, it autofills my Twitch Username rather than my D&D Beyond username.

I'm the opposite. Dark theme gives me a literal headache and I start to see lines. I can't use the app until a light theme is added, unfortunately. :(

On android, I could not equip shield, armor, weapon etc.
tapping spell slots also did not work.

So, using the updated Android app:
1) I went offline
2) I damaged my character (i.e., took off 10 hp)
3) I went back online.
The HP went back to full. Is that the current expected behavior? Meaning, it will change the app HP back to whatever it was last online, regardless of when you made changes on the app.
