Just a little thing: it'd be nice to have the "back button" on the character sheets be a little larger. The little arrow next to the character's name up top, I mean. The hitbox for that seems a tad small, especially on a tablet. I know the hardware back button/gestures are there, but yeah, if you're going to have the button, I personally would appreciate its hotspot being a little easier to hit!
Thanks! I haven't had a reason to actually use this during play yet, just been messing around, but it's looking great so far! Looking forward to the upcoming features being implemented. :)
Question: is the app android version restricted or device restricted? I wanted to sideload it on my kindle fire, but google play store said it's not compatible with my device.

This is weird. Are you trying to install the beta version or have access to the production one?
I initially had the beta version. Do I need to do something different to have the production version now? Uninstall/reinstall? Or will the Google Play store switch us over somehow?

Right now the two versions are exactly the same. Theoretically, when we release the app to alpha users, we would be then sending it further to everyone so it would still be the same. No need for any action then.

On my phone (android 9) I am part of the Beta programme and have that version installed. When I check the list of apps by Fandom, I see D&D Beyond, the Player Tools and the FANDOM app.
On my Kindle Fire HD 10 (7th gen, Fire OS 5.6.6.0) I have installed the google play store; I can see and have installed the D&D Beyond app (the compendium one), but cannot see the Player Tools app (or the FANDOM app). I cannot see the Player Tools app anywhere, not even in the Beta tab in the My apps & games section. I can however see the app in the "Library" tab of that section, with no Install button available; and if I check the details there's a red "Your device isn't compatible with this version" message where the install/open buttons should be.

Now that the alpha is done and there is a public beta released, should this thread be closed? That's how the dice rolling alpha was handled, but these are the only two D&D Beyond alphas I've been involved in.
I've just logged on to the app on my phone and all of my characters are gone, so I checked DnD Beyond and they have all gone from there too. Please tell me I haven't lost characters for my campaign. Sent a request to the 'contact us' though is that a help request?

Yikes. You made my panic. I checked mine and still there. Please update us later if you figure out what happened.

You don't even need to do that, you can detect the screen dimensions, aspect ratio, screen orientation, so you can detect if it's a tablet or phone. Though a setting to allow different layouts would be fantastic. +10 points of the user can choose their own layout. But at the moment I'd be happy with showing more information on the screen. It's the only thing stopping me from using the native app at the moment.
I've just bought the Galaxy Tab S7+ and the screen is massive (12.4" display!). The tablet view could just show two sections at the bottom instead of one, would be a great start.
Please add the Beyond 20 Functionality to the dice roller
The D&D Beyond team has nothing to do with Beyond20. That's a 3rd party browser extension. If you have suggestions, please raise them in the feedback thread for Beyond20. That said, B20 is a browser extension, so can't and won't interface with the Player app at all.

Sorting is currently truly round the corner.
For viewing other characters in the campaign, it's on the roadmap.

Fantastic - thank you!
My tablet is a Galaxy Tab A running Android 5.1.1. I am not able to install the app as it says it is not compatable.
I also have a One Plus 6 and the app installs fine from the play store.

Hello there Chronofrost,
I think this might answer your question...
-- Arms are for hugging The Dandy Warhols --
Having all the information on one page would be a lot better. Or a layout similar to the website.
I beg to differ - on a 5' screen it would be a hell to find the information you need.

I'd love to see better tablet screen utilisation. Currently the web version uses the real estate better.

Agree so much with this. Got a tablet only for D&D. Should be ok to have setting in the app stating if you use tablet or a phone.
