I know that dark themes are all the rage, but personally dark theme sites and apps give me a literal headache after half an hour and I start to see squiggly lines everywhere. Please make a light theme available as in this form the app is unusable for me.

Relatedly, the "inspiration" button at the top of the sheet looks a lot like a "lights on" button, so I was initially surprised when toggling it did not enable a light theme.
This is one of the reasons why I didn't uninstall the Reader App--it's easier on my eyes.
Thankfully, the reader part of the combined app has a light mode. So you can go ahead and get the new supported app for that feature.
Still waiting on the bafflingly absent light mode for characters, though. I mean... I'm not a programmer, but isn't that just some html or java display coding changes?
Unfortunately, it's not trivial at all for various technical reasons. But believe me - we know that some of you need it and we will eventually work on it.
Just wanted to add my voice to needing this feature. Looking at my character with the current dark theme starts to strain my eyes and make impressions on my vision within 10 minutes. It's really horrible.
saw this thread and I want to vote for it as well! I use the note air with an e-ink display to take my notes and darkmode is not readable with this type of displays. I mean the webpage is working but it would be nice if I could use the app instead, as it is better in regards of scaling and displaying on mobile devices.

This is about disabled inclusion, I really need a lights on Version, atm im using the website on the small devises, and well it’s definitely not great.

Please do more than consider it. I'm honestly baffled as to why it isn't already an option.
Adding my voice to this - a light mode would be a god send, dark modes are impossible to read for me

I was just looking for a way to change the theme on the app, but it looks like that's still not possible at all.
Adding my opinion, it would be awesome to be able to set the background color and not just offer dark and light modes :)
They keep "happily passing over to the team", but I think the team also keeps happily passing over this request.

I use both apps. The Reader has easier navigation and until very recently had better search.

Same, I wish I could use dark mode more but it hurts my eyes and I get painful lines after reading on it. Please add a light mode!
