As Wertbag said why? Warforged get full healing from spells, humanoids get full healing from spells but doing a half n half means they can't?
Nothing in 5e supports the idea, but hey if you both wanna do it I guess go for it, just not exactly seeing the basis for it other than "thats how it was in 3e" but this isn't 3e
Heck in our campaign we let the 1 undead NPC be healed by spells because it just became a massive friggin headache to deal with that one person that we'd all groan when they ate a hard hit (even the DM) and it hasn't made anything unbalanced or crazy just let the game flow without having to take rests nonstop in a party with 2 clerics and a druid so they could use hit dice or long rest all the time
