So, I've been playing around a bit and there is one slight problem - when tracking monster HP, if you browse to another tab (like say your Compendium opened to equipment, or your Drive where you keep your notes) or follow a link in the same tab to elsewhere on DDBeyond, it resets monster HP to max. I can work around this by having a separate window entirely for Toolbox HP tracking but it would be preferable to be able to use this extension within the same environment where I keep everything else game related.

In the initiative Tracker or the Encounters?
The initiative tracker saves the monsters current health the encounter builder does not.
Ah, I see. Yes, I was using Encounters - hadn't played with the initiative tracker too much as I roll individually for all the monsters and haven't found a way to add them individually from the encounters list. Also, I like the fact that the encounters lets me subtract from current HP right there in the field using a (-x) while the initiative tracker pops open a window before I can do the same.
So, if you're doing features request, individual adding of monsters from the encounters tab and HP tracking in the Initiative tracker that doesn't open up another window.
I think of the encounters section more as "groups" session than actual encounters--if I have a mob I roll together they'll all go in one entry, but any other creature that has its own initiative gets its own separate entry.

Request. (I love the functionality of this extension btw!)
Is there a way to change the color from hot pink. It burns into my retinas!
Also is there a way we could just type in initiatives and have it auto sort at the start? would be much better than dragging characters/encounters because I have seven players and remembering who rolled what is a pain on top of my own rolls.
Is there a way to separate the monsters in the initiative tracker if the monsters are all listed under one encounter? When I DM I roll initiative for each separate monster. Currently, if I set up an encounter (with multiple monsters) and add the encounter to the initiative tracker the monsters are all listed under the encounter name and can't be separated in the tracker.
Encounters here are treated as groups of monsters/mobs. If you want to roll separate initiative, you would need to make each monster its own encounter.

You could just add the same encounter multiple times too. Deleting the extra monsters as needed

For a future update, could it be possible to include separating out monsters in the tracker from an encounter? An example would be the group is going to fight 14 kobolds, a purple worm, and two skeletons. In the current format, I would have to add the encounter, delete 13 kobolds, purple worm and two skeletons. Add the encounter, delete 13 kobolds, purple worm, and two skeletons, etc. Or I can add each separate monster as a separate encounter which takes a long time. Also, the reason why I wouldn't be able to have the battle prepared in the tracker is the group has more encounters in the same session before this one. The action is time-consuming and can take away from a session's flow.
Just curious is we are going to get any new updates for this extension.
Hello Karieo, trust me so am I.
I work for a local public school as my day job in which I run 2 D&D clubs, an anime club, and a game club (tabletop and Magic the Gathering Yu-Gi-Oh stuff). On top of this, I also manage my own company for website design and work as a property manager. Then I have to take online college classes because I am not actually certified but instead an Emergency Certified teacher, which means I have to go to school to become a teacher to keep my job. Lastly, I run my own D&D games with my friends once every other week.
In short, I am really busy BUT on June 8th, I am done as a teacher and school, meaning about 70% of my life becomes free. I actually have a few updates built that I have been testing, but they are buggy and not ready for release. I don't want to release something that is buggy knowing I won't be able to have time for feedback.
Basically, I am hoping to work a lot on this over the summer (someone because it will give me a reason to stay in my ACed house lol).
The last thing I would like to state is, I am sorry for the lack of communication and downtime. My life just got extremely busy extremely quickly and I haven't quite manage to catch up with it, always feel like a day behind and sadly this is one of my many projects that just got buried in my massive transition.
Just curious is we are going to get any new updates for this extension.

All really understandable, and I hope it didn't come off as a rude question (I apologize if it did). I was just curious more than anything. Thanks for such a great extension. You are just leaving us wanting more. :)

Don't worry I didn't take it as rude, I want to work on it. Its just a matter of time. lol
I was mostly explaining, so you and others would know I do really want to work on this, I sadly just don't have the time.
Dude you have a life keep up the good work and do what you can. It's already leaps and bounds better than what the websites base offer is in terms of actual management of the campaign.
An options page to turn off certain features, like the Async Dice Roller on forum posts and class pages and everywhere where, quite frankly, it's really not wanted.

I'm certain this is a dumb question, and I apologize if it is. I just recently dove into DNDBeyond (which is klunky and function-lite for me) and discovered your extension. It looks amazing, so I'm diving into it as well and hit a bump. I'm wanting to make initiative orders, and I've pulled in characters from my campaigns, but in adding monsters, you say "Monsters are added by first building encounters"...how do I build an encounter? I see custom encounters, but how do you define their initiative?
Also, in your initiative tracker, does it actually roll the initiative, or do the players roll and I just manually sort the list?
Again, sorry if these are dump or have been asked, didn't see them in the 9 pages of your thread and the search on the forum is also pretty function-lite.
Thanks.

Ancient GM, started in '76, have played almost everything at some point or another.
I run/play Mercer-style games, heavy on the RP and interaction, light on the combat-monster and rule-lawyering. The goal is to tell an epic story with the players and the players are as involved in the world building as the GM is. I run and play a very Brechtian style, am huge into RP theory and love discussing improv and offers.

Thanks, for the feedback.
To add encounters, you should see a little red shield with swords on a monster card. Click this and you will get a popup asking you fill out the information needed to build the encounter. To add multiple different monsters to the encounter, just make it so that you choose the same monster encounter name for each monster. This will build an encounter.
The next step is to add the encounter to the initiative. Currently, everything is added to the bottom and you have to manually sort. There have been lots of feedback for different variations and I will have to see how I can build them. However, I kinda like the idea of having a random roll for everyone and it manually sorts. It might just be weird because it wouldn't allow the players to roll for their initiative.

One of my local updates does an include the ability to turn off some options, however, it is turned off everywhere! I do not plan to add an option that allows you to turn a feature off for certain pages.

Got it. Never noticed the shield, thought it was just part of the art.
Next question....I have an encounter, it has players and encounters in it. How do I say "roll initiative" and get a different order? And, when it rolls, does it delve into the individual characters/monsters and gather the initiative info, like bonus, feats, advantage, etc?
Oh, amazing tools, thank you for both your work and support!
