Question does the Sea Elf can speak Both Common and Elvish or does it only speak Aquan.
All elves speak Common and Elven. Any subrace-specific languages are in addition to that, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Well it does only say Languages Speak Aquan but idk if that replaces the language of the Sea Elf or not. simply bcs it does not specify. If it was Extra Languages then it would have been.
It doesn’t say it replaces anything, so it doesn’t replace anything. Rules do what they say they do and don’t do what they don’t say they do.
Fair enough.
If the Sea Elf knowledge of Aquan replaced knowledge of a different language, it would say so in the ability description.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
