I’m really interested in the concepts in Van Richen’s, as a DM, but the DM for a campaign I’m playing in wants to run CoS. Are there spoilers in Van Richen’s Guide for CoS?
The section on Barovia does have spoilers, but you can just not read that chapter.
less of a chapter and more of like... 3 pages.

Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
I read the book and just left out the Barovia part. There’s some minor spoilers to what Strahd actually is that you can piece together, but nothing major.
It does have a full map of Barovia and some important information on a few of the major NPCs. I would follow everyone else's recommendation and read the book, but skip over Barovia until you are well into or finished with CoS if you are worried about spoilers
