I Want to give one of my players the ability to run a campaign to test out DND:B. Can he use the DM tools, as a player? Basically I want him to learn how to use the Encounter builder and other tools, without having to ask him to buy a Master Membership. Is there a way my players can have access to Encounter builder, and see other players sheets, without just giving him my account log in?
Encounter builder should be available (but not the combat tracker).
Not sure how much players can see of other players sheets from the campaign section. If the player makes their own campaign, then they will have dm access to any char in that campaign.
Edit: I assume they can see but not alter other players sheets like clicking a public link
Any player can make a campaign. Generally they will only have access to the basic rules and any books they may have bought.
Master level subscription allows a player to enable content sharing in 3 (i think 5 currently due to pandemic) campaigns. This will share access to any book bought by any player in a campaign to all players in that campaign. (This can be enabled by anyone with the subscription, does not matter if they are dm or player)
If i remember correctly, the player who created a campaign is designated as the dm. I believe the dm has the ability to make changes to any char sheet in the campaign.
As a player you should be able to view but not edit character sheets in a campaign(I don't know if there is a toggle to allow/deny this behavior but i can see other sheets in a campaign that has me designated as a player)
Just compare the subscription plans, you'll see even without subscription you can use most of the tools; it's really only the early access stuff you miss out on. https://www.dndbeyond.com/subscribe

So a player cannot make a campaign without MASTER level access correct?
