Is this replacing Dex to AC? Because armor that lets you add your Charisma modifier to AC on top of whatever the normal Dex to AC for the armor's type would be quite OP.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Create a "magic armor" as it would be as far as stats go for a mundane armor. After saving, add modifier Modifier Type: Bonus. Modifier Subtype: Armored Armor Class. Ability Score: CHA.
Hmm...actually, instead of 14+Dex modifier (max 2), using "Modifier Type: Bonus. Modifier Subtype: Armored Armor Class. Ability Score: CHA" just seems to change it to 14+Cha modifier (max 2), so it can't go above 16.
I changed it from armor to a wonderous item, but after updating it, it is not showing up in the manage inventory. Updating the bonus had the updated item immediately available but changing the item type isn't updating. Once I can apply the new version to the character sheet, I'll see if changing it from armor to wonderous items "fixed" it.
I want to make a magic item that is a type of armor that allows the wearer's AC to increase by the same amount as the character's charima modifier.
Is there anyway to do this to have D&D Beyond automatically calculate the AC or do I have to just edit fixed bonus based on the wearer's charism?

Thanks Wtfdndad, that worked!
One is so charismatic and likable that enemies are anxious not to damage them.. is pretty cool...

I have had issues with the modified item not updating in the character sheet. I usually remove it, then add it in again.
Yep, that did it. Changing it to a wonderous item, instead of armor worked also help avoid stacking the bonus on top of the armor type's AC.
