I have made a homebrew race, and then subraces off of it. In each subrace, I have built in the traits I want the subrace to provide, and also listed them in the description section of the subrace.
For example, in the subrace description: "Ability Score Increase" Your Charisma score increases by 1.
Then, as a trait, I built in the same, and have that description for it, so it reads in the character builder.
If I view the Parent Race's page, it displays wonderfully, as the Parent race page doesn't display subclass traits below each subclass, so the traits being included in the description itself serve to show the player what they would get choosing said race. If, however, I view the Subrace's actual page, it displays:
(Race Name) (Race Description, which includes the traits typed into the description itself) (Racial Traits)
If I remove the traits from the description, it doesn't show them on the parent race page, but displays them as i'd like on the Subrace Page. If I keep them in the description, it shows as I'd like on the parent race page, but twice on the Subrace page.
Did I miss a checkbox or something? Thanks for the help!
Nope, you have not missed anything! The traits listed after the description are what displays when selecting a race in the character builder. The traits in the actual traits section are what displays in the character sheet, under racial traits.
I imagine both are visible in the actual view of your subrace so that you can both check it more easily, and, when people go to add public homebrew, they can make sure all parts of it have the correct description.

Here is one of my own homebrew subclasses. If yours looks the same in terms of description+traits into traits then it is correct:

Thank you for the response! Mine does look exactly like yours. Good to know i'm not missing something.
I would officially request that they tweak this specific piece. The obnoxiously specific person in me hates the repeat in the article.
