I'm taking an existing Lvl6 character and re-envisioning him for a new campaign. I want to change his race but the builder doesn't allow that. Is this a bug or intentional? I would prefer to not re-enter all his stats and other attributes, skills, etc. Is there a way to change just the race?
Thanks in advance for any help. Be well, everyone.
On the Race page of the builder, check the upper right side of the character info. There should be a button under the race's artwork that says Change Race.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

When I try to click that it's unclickable. It doesn't give me the little pointy finger mouse icon. Could it be because the original character race is homebrew?
I figured it out. If the Optional Features: Customize Your Origin is turned on, it won't let you change your character race in the builder. Weird but it works now.

Report the bug, since you've found a solution that would be very helpful in tracking down the problem.

I have no idea why it would do that. I would recommend submitting a bug report in the Bugs & Support forum: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/bugs-support

OK. Thanks for trying.
