So, it's been a pretty long time with no updates to any of the features of the Campaign section on D&D Beyond? Did they stop working on this?

I keep finding posts from like 2018 saying "Oh they just release Campaigns, but there are more features coming."

It's 2021 now, and I don't think anything has been added to this website other than more stuff to buy.

I just see zero value in holding a subscription, what am I missing?

Actually the team has been holding regular feedback interviews and surveys to find out what people actually want from a campaign screen. It's all well and good people saying "we want more" but without knowing what more, it's hard to deliver.

As for "It's 2021 now, and I don't think anything has been added to this website other than more stuff to buy.", since 2018 (which is the date you referenced), the following has been added:

• Character ownership transfer
• Homebrew subclasses
• Encounter builder
• Combat Tracker
• Digital Dice
• Avrae integration
• Gifting
• Rolling for ability scores
• Game log
• Monster rolling
• Containers
