I am wondering when there will be an update to allow the switching of psionic spells a bit more seamlessly, I currently have the ones I wanted to switch out as the same ones but renamed. I also tried editing the subclass and creating a brand new one for only two spells but it proved a bit difficult and the spells would not show up. If anyone has heard any word regarding this it would be greatly appreciated.
The problem is that you can only know a certain number of spells and the feature I am referencing forces you to pick certain spells but you are able to switch them out but not in D&D beyond.
1.) Copy your subclass, rename it to mark it as a copy ("Aberrant Mind (Character Name)", as one example.) 2.) Find the "Expanded Spell List" feature in your copied homebrew subclass. Click "Edit Feature". 3.) Remove the spells you don't want. 4.) Add the spells you do want, obeying the rules for the Aberrant Mind. 5.) Save the feature. 6.) Save the homebrew subclass. Yes, 5 and 6 are different steps, and both are necessary. 7.) Change your character's subclass from Aberrant Mind to Aberrant Mind (Homebrew). 8.) Repeat steps 2 through 6 as necessary for future spell edits.
Good Morning,
I am wondering when there will be an update to allow the switching of psionic spells a bit more seamlessly, I currently have the ones I wanted to switch out as the same ones but renamed. I also tried editing the subclass and creating a brand new one for only two spells but it proved a bit difficult and the spells would not show up. If anyone has heard any word regarding this it would be greatly appreciated.
You can create homebrew versions of spells (even if your homebrew is merely copying an old UA version of an ability).
Using a slightly different name would always be best so that the DM knows that it is a homebrew rather than a published version of the ability.
The problem is that you can only know a certain number of spells and the feature I am referencing forces you to pick certain spells but you are able to switch them out but not in D&D beyond.
1.) Copy your subclass, rename it to mark it as a copy ("Aberrant Mind (Character Name)", as one example.)
2.) Find the "Expanded Spell List" feature in your copied homebrew subclass.
Please do not contact or message me.
I will try it again but when I have done that in the past it didn’t actually change the spells on the character sheet
I noticed it takes time for changes to go into affect. Try refresh your browser and check back in a couple hours
