I have a Legendary creature I am trying to create as a Guardian for a Fountain to a Goddess. As of right now, I am trying to give him a few Lair actions, which is easy enough. But for the Legendary actions, it says the monster does these typically after another creatures turn. Does that have to be the case? Or can I have it's legendary action be something that is done on one turn and take two rounds of combat to complete? Does anybody have any ideas or advice on making that happen within the homebrew monster creator? Right now I have it saying as a legendary description: Can do "THIS ABILITY" once per combat. Then under the Abilities it lists "THIS ABILITY" and goes into the specifics.
Legendary actions are actions they can take at the end of another creatures turn, if its not that, its not a legendary action, and should not be listed under that section.
What is the difference between a Lair and a Legendary Action, then?
A lair action is an action created by the magical effects of a creatures lair (this should be self explanatory) that occurs at intiative 20, losing ties.
