Playing my second campaign, with extreme house-ruling
As a level 3 high elf wizard, I get to scribe one level 2 spell and one level 3 spell as my "ultimate" ability
I recently discovered that spells with the ritual tag can be cast without expending a spell slot, and I REALLY love the idea of casting rituals
I searched up the level 2 + 3 rituals for wizards and picked out Magic Mouth for my level 2. (Cause I love the idea of my items screaming bloody murder if someone touches them)
For my level 3 spells, I'm stuck between Phantom Steed or Leomund's Tiny Hut. Can I get any suggestions as to which one would work best in my situation, or should I just go for the 8d6 damage from fireball?
I picked other because I like Counterspell best, but if your campaign isn't very big on magic using enemies then I'd go with one of these: Fireball, Tiny Hut, Thunder Step.
Fireball has been said to have purposely been built as the most OP damage dealing 3rd level spell, Tiny Hut is good for defence, but it takes forever to cast it in combat, and Thunder Step is a good support spell as you could see the fighter or barbarian or even the paladin starting to get low health and then just teleport to them, grab them, and teleport back. These are just my opinions though and I've never used Phantom Steed so not sure how good that might be but I'll read it and message on this thread again.

Just read Phantom Steed and it seems like more of a flavor thing, however it does provide some speed while traveling and I'd probably put it above Tiny Hut to be honest, but below Fireball, and Thunder Step. I did think of something you can do with this spell: You take the steed within 10ft of a merchants shop and sell the equipment rolling a deception check to make the merchant believe it's real equipment, you then take the money, ride away, and then the equipment disappears from the merchant's shop and reappears on the steed and you can repeat this process being a swindler of sorts and just robbing merchants for their money. LOL

TL;DR Tiny hut or Phantom steed?
