So I’m one of those people that play D&D on Discord because there aren’t enough people irl to play a game. I was in this server that was 1 dm and 3 (later 4) players. This DM DMed multiple campaigns in which I died many times(usually by doing ridiculous things like sleeping with a demon as a bard). But the last 2 times I’ve died were somewhat questionable. So we were starting a new campaign and I decided to make a joke character (Darkness from Konosuba if anyone here knows what that is). The DM doesn’t say he has a problem with it until I got to the name of the character. So then we were in the story, and the same day he says “the paladin has a heart attack, dead” and says how it would be weird to have a character like that, yet didn’t say anything(I even sent private messages on Discord and he never responded). Oh but don’t worry, the cleric walks up and raises the dead paladin as a zombie. So then I left and came back because I have an irl friend that is also in the server. So I make this Goliath warchief who failed and lost his allies. I made sure multiple times the character was ok and I go in the story(same campaign). Then in combat the DM is passive-aggressively wanting me dead, asking the cleric if he wants to hit me with toll the dead, and that he’s “perfectly ok” if the cleric wants to help himself instead of me. So eventually in the story a rather important character dies. My character wants to go back to civilization and bury them, while the rest of the party wants to continue. So I say my character leaves(meaning for him to be taken out of the story), however the DM and warlock had another idea. The warlock hits me in the back with eldritch blast. I was going to have my character turn around and continue the story but the DM says warlock gets another round because surprise. The warlock casts witchbolt...misses...but DM goes “dead”. The DM says he wasn’t “reluctant hero” enough, and to make the next character “more of a man.” Also again don’t worry about the party, because the cleric goes to raise the corpse as a zombie and DM goes “bam, useful Goliath”. So I can’t tell if I’m wrong here for if this DM is a jerk, so I ask for your opinions.
It's difficult to form a truly valid opinion without reading statements from all sides of the table. That being said, based solely on what you've written here, I'd agree with JCAUDM and say you should stay away. Based on what you've said, they probably won't care if you leave, because for some reason they aren't interested in letting you have a good time. Find a different group that's interested in making sure everyone at the table has fun. Those guys are just having fun at your expense and it's not cool.
I concur with the statements above. Based on the evidence you've given us, I'd say to stay as far away from that group as possible. No D&D is better than bad D&D.
Even if I knew more, it sounds like the DM is being a jerk in how they run the game. I would honestly find another group and as much as this might not be easy to hear, that might be what the DM wants. That said, they're going about it the wrong way.

from this evidence, I would conclude "jerk" and "I'm not playing with this DM"

A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
