Have a 1-shot I want to run, and I want to limit what content can be used as we have a lot of new players and some more experienced.
Unfortunately when sharing content even with a lot of content turned off, all the stuff is still accessible on their character sheets.
Is there any way to limit what they can add to their sheets, without having to vet each and every character?
Blocking content on a campaign with content sharing turned on only blocks access to the compendium content (and only if they do not own the compendium content themselves), it does not block options in the character builder. Granular control in the character builder is not possible.
What you can do is to simply turn off content sharing. If there are a lot of new players, it simply easier to just reduce all options to just stuff in the Basic Rules/SRD and EEPC. For new players, that is all the info they need. I would not even recommend the PHB as it will just give them an information overload.
