Now that WoTC is buying DND Beyond do you think there's any chance we'll be able to get offline copies of the products we've purchased on DND Beyond? PDFs? Literally any format for when internet is down?
I don't see why DDB being purchased by Hasbro will have any effect whatsoever on their decision to not published PDFs.
We are more likely to get some kind of linking between digital and physical purchases now due to one of the major obstacles being removed, but not PDFs. If anything, I think it less likely that theyll be released while 5e is live. Before there was a chance that WotC might have decided to release them in order to directly appeal to those of us who like electronic access. It was unlikely, but a possibility. Now that they have DDB's browser and app version, there is no incentive for it anymore because they already have it.
You can download books through the app (sorry, sucks if you're on desktop or laptop that doesn't support Android/Apple apps) or you can get physical books. At this point, I wouldn't hold my breath for PDFs and the like. They'll only come (for 5e) once we've moved on to 6e, which will probably be in 2030 or so.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
If anything, things are going to get locked down worse. They want to make lots of money. I don't foresee having codes in the physical books either. They may just make less books and start charging more for physical and have digital be the default.

If you have the phone app then you can read your dndbeyond purchases offline (as long as you've downloaded them beforehand).
This works on tablet devices as well, including laptops with access to Google and Apple stores.
