How "in-depth" do you like them to go? I know a lot of people do the quick and dirty math with averages to say, "I'll typically do ___ damage."
A few months ago I did a basic class damage output calculator based on melee attacks and "the biggest damage dice your class can muster." Which resulted in some surprising numbers. The calculator got really in depth (I think it was about 34 columns long) and it covered the full "roll cycles" of damage compared to the average AC of enemies at the player's level... so each class had 20 results based upon each level, and the AC changed as suggested by the DMG. The damage output was really surprising, as the Monk had the highest damage output in the first tier, and the Barbarian was the second lowest of the martial classes over all (Ranger was lowest, with most of it's extra damage tied to its sub classes). I think Fighter and Rogue (Maybe just Fighter) were the only ones to break 1,000 damage over 20 turns at level 20, per long rest. Paladin was in the 900's. Monk and Barbarian were in the 800's I believe. Ranger in the 600's (If I remember correctly).
Would you guys be interested in seeing this kind of calculator / how to make it?
It has the basics (nothing class related), but there is a linked Character Sheet which is dynamically related. Magic items like Defender, Dragon Slayer, Holy Avenger, Sharpness, all factor in... it's also able to pull the correct ability modifier and damage based on Variable and Finesse traits.
It is 100% Min-Maxing. It also can help weigh the value of abilities in a class. Example: Barbarians care about pumping their criticals. This ability is given more weight than it should.
Yes I'm looking for a good calculator, but not just damage, something where I can see how much of an effect sub classes or multi classing would have. I really like what maxroll do for Diablo. I'd like to plug in all the stats, skills, abilities, spells, weapons and gear etc and have an out put of 'all of the things'. I guess I'm looking a combination charter creator, damage calculator with level trajectory. Maybe one day.

Today at work I started a new calculator in XCel.

Damage Calculators are pointless unless you are a real min-max optimiser!
There's nothing about them that works towards the "role-play" aspect of the hobby.
