The title says it all, really. WotC's original 3-page sheet doesn't have anywhere near enough space to record class features for mid to high level characters, a flaw common to every homebrew sheet I've seen. I'm on a limited income and don't have home internet access, so going through the rigmarole of recreating my 12th level character online isn't really an option, especially as it seems I'd be expected to pay again for the content of books I already own.
All I want is a blank, form-fillable pdf character sheet with enough space for me to record the important details. Does one even exist?
Yes, but as I stated in my original post, they don't have the space required for class features or feats. Rather, they do, but once you get to around 10th level the text becomes too small to read comfortably. I know I could just type out my character's class features and feats on a blank sheet, but I have OCD and I'm really not comfortable doing something I know to be second best.
The revised MorePurpleMoreBetter sheet (Available on ENWorld) may suit your needs. It's SRD-only for the automation part, but I don't think there's anything preventing you from just typing in more stuff. It's 4 pages, plus extra notes and stuff--I like to print the first 4 pages as a booklet on 11x17. I think it's snazzy.
Thanks for the feedback, guys. I did a manual update of MBMP's sheet over the weekend and it works beautifully. I'm running a session at an RPG convention in a few weeks, so I'll be putting the character sheets in slide binders for the players. Great stuff!
You know... I was thinking I was getting to the place where I wouldn't need character sheets... and then realized that D&D Beyond will nearly always be impossible at a convention. Thanks for pointing me toward a better option than I was using...

I don't think that's quite true - EVENTUALLY they plan to have character sheets in the app and offline. But no timeline for that.

Don't WOTC have these on their site?
This should fit your needs, at worst you can print some from one of these and some from the official ones: https://www.dmsguild.com/product/232835/Class-Character-Sheets--The-Bundle
It's pay what you want so if you're strapped for cash you can get them free for now and pay money later if you feel like it.
I found one, in particular, that gave me plenty of room to write.

Offline character sheets would be great, especially if you could sync it up later... ok, you're right... impossible was a poor word choice...
