I don't know how much physical books would go for, but you can go digging through DM's Guild to find pdf's of older edition books: https://www.dmsguild.com/
It will really depend on which book as there are some that are more sought after than others. Do you have a list of books or maybe an edition you would like to focus on?
I believe the MSRP on 3rd edition books was typically 30 USD. I don't know how often you would be able to get them for that price when they were new, but it's certainly different now. And I know some of the books were smaller than others. Later this evening I can check the ones in my collection. They have the MSRP printed on the back cover.
Edit: I could only locate my Players Handbook. $29.99 USD is what's printed on it.
If you're talking about current prices for purchasing out of print books, I would imagine just doing a search yourself would be faster than waiting for answers here. I imagine your teacher would consider doing so a better research practice than just asking on a forum, and you can trust the answers you get to be accurate without the risk of some bored troll quoting made up numbers at you.
As to what they cost at the original time of printing, I also seem to recall most official 3e/3.5 supplement books typically having a MSRP of $30-$35 (I think it was bumped up five bucks at some point due to inflation or whatnot). I'm pretty sure the core three (PHB, DMG, and MM) were more like $40-$50, and a few others cost more as well. I want to think the Draconomicon was $45 or $50.
