I kind of agree with the OP, and don't have a problem with Wiz changing the game to cater to a large and young new consumer group. Of course I would be happy if they could throw us old grognards and lore nerds a few more bones, but it is what it is.
For me, after our current D&D campaign ends sometime after the summer, I will run The Enemy Within for WFRP 4e and Masks of Nyarlathotep for CoC for my table. That'll take a couple of years, after that I check in on the state of D&D again. Lots of fun games out there, so no use crying over D&D not catering to my personal taste for a while *shrug*.
