What kind of mount would a Loxodon have? Trying to keep things as reasonable as possible--not looking for wacky.
Could a Loxodon serve as a mount? They're bipedal, so the impulse is no. But they're also pretty big and could--at least for a small race--easily match their mounts for size, etc.
The issue with having a mount isn't actually the shape so much as the size and it's willingness to carry you. Characters can ride Gorillas without a problem (they might need to be small, but my point holds). Dragons can be mounts, but you need to work out a deal with them. Loxodons are a mixture of the two.
And get them to ride a War Elephant. It'll be awesome!
A loxodon could carry someone, but they're intelligent humanoids and thus aren't really suitable for being a mount. As far as why they'd ride? Large draft horses or similar animals. Since they're from Ravnica they might use different critters based on which faction they belong to.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

A. My thought. Just feels kind of wrong
B. Since it is my PC who is going to be the Loxodon in question, getting permission/cooperation isn't really the issue...
Loxodon Totem Warrior (Elk) Barbarian. Both rider and mount with lances for some really fast heavy cavalry.

Then there is 0 problem with being a mount normally. If you're playing with encumbrance, then you need to check the weight.

a loxodon could be a mount for an appropriately sized creature (mount needs to be one size larger than the creature)
for flavor I would have a loxodon ride a gigantic large rat
