Hi, I'm quite new to to DnD (the only time I've ever played is with my family members when I was 14) and was wondering if anyone knows that if there are some places I can visit or knows anyone that might be hosting games for new player that...might know a few things about DnD, any advise is fine.
If you are looking to play in person, you can always check out your local game store. At the very least, the game store owner will be a valuable resource--they tend to have a decent pulse on their community and might know folks who are looking for players. Many game stores also have bulletin boards where folks can post "looking for group/party" messages and some might even have D&D game nights where folks throw together one-shot sessions (sessions designed to be finished in a single day, which can often be a feeder for finding a long-term group).
Other options include asking your friends if they are interested (easier if you know someone willing to DM or are willing to DM for your friends). There are also places online where you can look for a group, either online or in person, including the "Looking for Players & Groups" section of this form.
