Eventually the warforged may get added which has variants that are different size, which would be nice to be able to do for similar races now. Could we please consider adding that as an option?

Already fully supported and has been since homebrew races were added.
As mentioned in my post above, when creating a homebrew race, there is a SIZE dropdown which can be set anywhere from Tiny to Gargantuan.
Yeah, I don't think that's possible - the assumption is made that it's ok to set a size for the race and all subraces or variants will be the same size.

Right, but my point is that, at least in previous editions, there have been variants of a race (warforged) that have different sizes. It would be nice to have the option instead of having to create a whole new race was all.

This should be added as an option, along with speed. Sometimes variant races will be slightly larger or smaller than their parent race and being able to shift the numbers instead of making an entirely new race would be both easier and more organized.
You cannot currently have a subrace or variant that has a size that is different from the parent race. As a workaround, you can create a second "Base Race" in a "Racial Group". This is visually similar to Subraces and Variants when players are making their characters.
Navigate to Creations > Create Race
Click "Create Race"
From the "Use an Existing Race as a Template" drop down, select the base race.
Click "Create"
From the "Size" dropdown, select the new size.
From the "Racial Group" dropdown, select the base race.
Click "Save Changes"
You will likely want to rename the new race and update references to the size in the text of the "Size" Racial Trait. You won't be able to publish this homebrew because it will too closely resemble the base race, but it will work for your own games.
I'm currently doing this for a Homebrew varient of the Tabaxi that is Small instead of Medium. I also updated the speed and climbing speed to reflect the new size. The list of races describes the Tabaxi as having "2 Base Races, 1 Homebrew" when my players go to select it in the character editor.
Eventually it would be nice to be able to change the size. So far, it seems that races who would be "Large" are getting a trait that says they are considered one size larger when calculating carrying capacity and a trait that gives them longer reach. (See Bugbear)
Hopefully this helps. I recognize that it might not meet your needs, but it did meet my needs for a Variant Race.
I'm trying to make a spider person race that range from tiny, to medium and have different movement speed and ability score changes, The easiest way I've found is to simply make another race as a copy of your starting race, then edit it, adding an identifier for the distinction. I believe that if you could choose to make a race by making and editing a copy and just checking a box and selecting from a list of races (including your homebrew collection) for what the copy is supposed to be a sub-race or variant of.
I'm working on a Houndfolk race which means you are usually medium, but when you are part of the Toy Group subrace you should be small and yappy, dang it!
why wont the size chnage its just stuck at medium for my loxodon i just wanted a large loxodon :(
I don't understand what you're saying. Loxodon are medium, not large. There are no official large races currently. That would also affect on a grid, because large takes up 4 grids insead of 1.
I used the homebrew thing to make a version to change there size but everytime i made the loxodon with the homebrew version it still says his size is medium and his carrying capactiy doesnt adjust with it

oh a variant loxodon. don't make a loxodon variant, just make a NEW RACE and use template loxodon, then change the base size to large
I have in mind a lineage where most are Medium, but individual might be Large or larger, even in the same family. To treat size as a lineage variant would be handy.
what is the correct modifier equation to edit a new homebrew races size?
i am having trouble trying to find that.

You can specify size in the Basic Information block of your race.
Official races in 5e are either Medium or Small as far as I am aware.

Hey Stormknight.
I was saying to modify this by subrace or variant. I don't see how to do that...

Has this been done yet? If so, how?

how much is huge? im doing a super orc whos 12 feet tall and race is inbetween 10-13
I'd say that's a large creature. Huge humanoids like Giants start around 16 feet with a suitable mass.
