I'm a half-elf Paladin 3rd level. I want to add Oath of Vengeance as my sacred Oath. The software will only allow me to choose Oath of Devotion. there are no other options are available even though the heading says choose one (1). what have i done wrong? I must have modified something along the way to disable the choose the OOV.
The problem is that you most likely only have the basic rules. Pretty sure Oath of Vengeance is PHB content. It's the same thing with feats. Only one feat is available with only the basic rules.

You have to buy it. You can buy the whole book it’s in, or you can buy just that subclass. If, in the future, you choose to buy the whole book, the amount you spent on the subclass will be deducted from the total cost.
When you say I need to buy the whole book, is that like a digital copy or a physical one? And how can I ensure that that will unlock the features in DND Beyond?

You don't have to buy the entire book. You can buy individual options by scrolling down on the marketplace page for the book, and you can purchase the options for $1.99 each. You don't necessarily get the spells though; if you don't already own them, you'll have to buy them. Whatever you spend on individual options gets discounted off of the whole book - so if the PHB is $29.99, you buy the OoV subclass for $1.99 and you'll only have to pay $28.00 if you ever decide to buy the whole PHB.
And whether you own the physical copy or not is irrelevant (I'm sorry); if you want the stuff on DDB, you have to buy it on DDB (or homebrew it, just don't publish it).
Anything you buy on DDB is automatically unlocked. Just make sure it's in the individual purchase options before you buy - if it's not there, you may want to verify by asking here if it will unlock it first.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
If you purchased the PHB on D&DB that shouldn't happen; I've heard the system has been buggy about syncing owned products with character creation the past few days, so I'd say drop a ticket with support if you purchased the PHB here but can't use its content for character creation.
Just purchased the 2024 PHB digitally so I could have my OoV for my paladin, yet it only gives me the option for the oath of devotion. This seems to have been a previous issue but could anyone help me resolve my issue?
To confirm, was this a character you'd already made or are you building from scratch? The 2024 subclasses won't appear as options for a 2014 base class in the system. If that's not the issue, check here to see if your entitlements are synced.
Joining this issue. I have the 2014 PHB which should have oath of vengeance for my paladin, but I cannot select it, only the divine subclass. I made this character this year (2025) but I do not have the 2024 PHB. Is that the issue? I don't see why I am being barred from using a class I *should* have access to all because I didn't purchase the new PHB because I just don't care to update when all my current campaigns are still using the 5e version.
You probably selected the 2024 Paladin class, wherein you’d need the 2024 PHB and its updated version of that subclass.
If you want to use the one from the 2014 PHB, you’ll need to use the class from that book as well. Try removing your current class, then selecting the one under “2014 Core Rules” instead.

You have to buy the digital from this site. If you buy the book from a store or are giving one as a gift you will not get anything beyond the limited free options. If you do not want to update, then yo probably will not have access.

Confirming Oath of Vengeance is found in the PHB.
Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
I guess I must have. I will go back to the beginning and create the character in the custom area and seee how that goes.
I do own the PHB for DND 5 edition
thanks for the help

Got a question I have the PHB but it's not giving me the subclass only oath of devotion is appearing
