I just wanted to ask, for the spell ANIMATE DEAD, you take a corpse or bones and then when the spell is cast, they become a zombie and skeleton respectively. However, if someone had JUST died and someone cast this spell, would they become a 'zombie' despite not being the typical rotting-and-mouldy corpse that usually common for a zombie, or would the spell animate them and make them look more like a stereotypical zombie? If not, any ideas on how to make them still look 'dead' and zombie -like without the exposed brain and classic green skin?
In terms of rules, it'd be whatever the DM agrees with you. Personally, I'd have them just look like normal, apart from vacant look in the eyes, zombie vocalisations, etc.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.

Thank you for any help and ideas!! :)

Thank you! This is simply for the backstory for my character so I'm sure the DM won't mind, but I ADORE that idea! Thank you :))

They'd look like a freshly-reanimated corpse. People can probably tell that they're still not-exactly-alive though.
