I'm new to D&D, i tried this site because it seemed like an easy start. I've created a character although I'm not sure how to play a game. Could anyone help with this?
Though this site makes it easy to play a character, to play you will have to find a group. There is a looking for group section on the forums you can use, though I cannot vouch for its efficacy.
The best way to find a group is to put one together yourself, finding like-minded friends or friends of friends and throwing a party together. That, however, can be difficult - someone needs to Dungeon Master, which means someone has to step up to the plate and take that role.
If that is not an option, either because you cannot get anyone to dungeon master or you cannot convince friends to play, your next best option is to go to your local game store and ask the owners if they know of any groups (if it is a nice store—some of them are pretty sketchy and not going to be conductive to finding a fun group). A good game store owner is going to know who plays D&D and might be looking, and possibly could host games in their store that you could join.
