I read an article today on THEGAMER that said that D&D Beyond is planning to change their pricing tier and the new top tier will be 30$ a month. As someone who pays for your current top tier, I can tell you that I understand the need to change your prices from time to time but I can tell you with 100% certainty that I will be canceling my subscription if this happens. I sincerely hope that what I read was not true and that you plan to keep your prices the same, but I would be shocked if a price increase of this magnitude did not destroy this platform, which in my opinion would be a great shame as I can see how much people love it.

Personally, i would just say wait on your outrage about this particular topic until WotC/Hasbro officially confirm or deny price hikes of any sort. For now focus your attention on what we do have access to, the OGL 1.2 draft.
It's not exactly how this went down, but the spin is quite strong with Wizards of the Coast.
There was a plan to increase the top-tier subscriptions to $30 per month. It was leaked information. When that leaked information hit the community and they became outraged over it, as the announcement was never official, Wizards of the Coasts were able to simply say "hey it's just a rumor". I believe them when they say they will not increase the prices, I don't believe them when they say that this was never part of the plan. Wizards of the Coast employee's are pretty pissed off right now with how the company is being managed from the executive level and they are intentionally leaking information out of spite.
You can always claim leaks as misinformation, that is very easy to do, as it is easy to make up a story and claim its leaked information. It boils down to who you trust more, a corporation that thinks you are objects that stand between them and their money (aka cattle), or passionate community members who are trying to preserve Dungeons & Dragons?
I for one, believe the community, that these leaks are real and that Wizards of the Coast is full of it.

The guy who broke the "leak" deleted his tweet and apologized. This ain't it chief.

Clearly games became more and more expensive because of high demande from new players everyday

Eh no.. This was leaked to several major editorials separately and simultaneously and the Tweet has not been deleted, in fact, its been confirmed by several separate sources.
It doesn't necessarily mean it's all factual as this is the nature of leaks, but this story was not some sort of mistake.
There was a fake leak earlier this year which was confirmed to be fake which actually said the same thing, but this latest information is from several separate internal sources that went out to separate editorials very intentionally.
If it was the thing leaked by Dnd_shorts or whatever he's called then it's not a good enough source and should be verified independently of him.
Either way, even if WotC had been planning to hike prices, they would most likely have shelved that idea for the foreseeable future quietly given the current PR challenges.
If WOTC officially stating that that's not their plan and never was isn't enough for you, then you should find a different community. If you can't give them an ounce of trust, there is absolutely no way they can ever please you.

False. They can be open and upfront about things, and not put themselves in a position where my faith in their honest, good intentions is in any way relevant to our interactions. They can combat rumor and speculation with generosity.
"We have no intentions of raising the price of the subscription" is a statement that relies on trust.
"We promise that no matter what happens with the next version of dnd beyond, you have our guarantee the price of the master/legendary tier subscription will not change before Jan 1, 2030" is a statement that, while you could argue still relies on some degree of trust, it's also a contract that has clearly defined terms. If it is true that they have no near term plans to meddle with prices, then they should have no problem being honest about it. If they do have plans, but those plans are nebulous future plans centered on the medium term 2-4 years out, then, obviously, they'll be less inclined to make a commitment, which, given my current attitude toward them, will, I think quite reasonably, infer a truth.
Now, maybe it's not fair or reasonable to expect WotC to respond to such rumors and tie their own hands, but their word these days is mud, and that's exactly the way it should be after they (tried) to revoke EVERY SRD and thoughtlessly broke (attempted) half a dozen separate agreements between thousands of people with a stroke of a pen. They could use the goodwill.
Either way, what is NOT fair of you is to suggest that it is somehow my problem that I'm pissed that (WotC) urinated in the pool like a drunken idiot. That is very much their problem. The pool needs to be cleaned. You can keep swimming if you want.
Well, I am happy to hear that there will not be a crazy price hike in the near future. Thank you for the clarification.
I will go on record and say with 100% certainty, that, no matter what statements they have made, no matter what they will say between now and when it happens, a price hike is definitely coming. Hasbro will make that decision for everyone and they aren't going to ask Wizards of the Coast or DnDBeyond for permission.

That was based on an 6 month old fake and some clickbaiters with "Trust me" information etc
There was already a reaction to that: https://twitter.com/DnDBeyond/status/1615879300414062593
