Hah ! I didn't preorder it but i was also quite sure it said 7th of February for the digital version. Not just the digital/physical bundle
It very much did say that. And when you clicked the link from the advertisement saying pre order unlocks on feb 7th, it took you to the dndbeyond pre-order. It said Febuary 7th for digital unlock and nothing about the physical combo.
This is not right! Per the screenshot that has been circulating, many of us ordered the digital only based on the promise we’d receive it on Feb.7. C’mon Wizards, haven’t you garnered enough bad will from your customers recently without doing things like this. Even if it was a mistake, lots of folks pre-ordered because of this promise. Do the right thing here! Release it as promised to digital only orders today!
This is exactly how the Dragonlance book was sold. If you bought the bundle (physical and digital from the D&D Store) you got access to the digital 2 weeks early.
I also purchased when the page said it would unlock on the 7th, not the 21st, so I feel that I should have the early access that I was promised, even if it was promised by mistake.

Exactly why I was surprised and pleased to see that this time appeared different than the Dragonlance pre-order, and I figured since they even said the Dragonlance bundles were an experiment, they were trying it different this time.
Being an occasional freelancer and 3pp, I certainly had mixed emotions about purchasing it at all (wanting to support the team who actually wrote and produced the book but also wanting to send whatever tiny message I could to the executives with the only voice they'd hear... $$$), I waffled a lot but Monday night seeing even the digital-only pre-order was going to be released on Feb 7, I caved and bought it. (Also, Kyle Brink's responses in the interview helped me feel better that execs might at least listen to their own people more. But I guess I'm an optimist.)
Then I was surprised the next day to see the text of the page edited to the 21st. As of 10pm ET on Feb 6 when I made my purchase, the digital-only pre-order page clearly stated a Feb 7 release.
Sure, mistakes happen, I didn't have immediate plans to use it, but I know others did. What bothers me more is that it seems these little mistakes and outages and lack of development, etc. has been steadily increasing recently which is really making me worry about whoever is in charge of DDB after Adam left. I work in IT, I know issues happen. But when there is an increasing pattern of issues happening, uh... that is not a good sign. It's not a massive drop in quality yet (well, except the nights where the character sheet is unusable), but there's definitely a growing pattern of sloppiness starting to emerge, and 9 times out of 10 in IT, that's from poor management.
And now over in the support forum it's apparent that even for those who purchased the physical+digital bundle, many (possibly all?) of the internal links don't work. So links to magic items within this book don't work, etc. This is even sloppier than I thought and proves my point even more. DDB's quality has been dropping fast in recent months. Sad.
That's usually a case of overextending your resources or poor priority setting. But whatever the root cause, it is noticeable and trending worse.
I hope this helps not sure if I can clear anything up.
I purchased digital/physical bundle.
the only links that i see in my keys digital book that are funky are the items that are new in the book itself, but if you scroll down the item is in the content anyway.
for example the shard solitaire is not working correctly, but everything else is.
but all other spells and items from older content when hovered over or clicked on display or redirect correctly.
The topic I made where I posted a screenshot of what the store said before has been deleted. I didn't receive any message that would explain why my topic has been deleted.
This is a screenshot of the page I made after I purchased the book on February 4th.
The website clearly said the product will become available on February 7th after I purchased the product. I don't think it is OK that the date has been changed without giving me any kind of notice. I don't think it is OK that the topic I made about this has been deleted without telling me which rules I have broken.

I look at that as a small bug that can be fixed.
Using the Shard Solitaire as an example is interesting. If you look it up on the iOS app under magic items there's full details but look it up on the website under game rules and while it's there as a match it gives you either a 404 error if you click on it or a message it's locked behind needing to buy Golden Vault (even though I have) if you try expanding it

They deleted it???
Wow, that's some next level messed up. My confidence in DDB management drops even more...
And here I was re-subbing and buying this book after their improved response about the OGL stuff. I wonder how long until they delete this thread, as well, to cover up their mistake.
Has anyone had a response from this? I raised a support ticket when it didn't show up on the 7th, but other than an automatic email to acknowledge receipt I haven't heard anything back.
Like many people here I purchased this from the store because it said it would be available on the 7th. They've taken my money and haven't delivered the product when they said they would. I've had to delay my game; I'm disappointed.

There was one thread where, I believe, a moderator posted that it was supposed to be Feb 21, not Feb 7, but that just happened to be the one that got mysteriously deleted. So now, despite multiple threads and support tickets, I don't think they have said anything to anyone either way. They are probably thinking if they just pretend it doesn't exist, it will fix itself in 2 weeks. If so, that's yet another strike showing how much the quality of service has dropped. If they admitted it was posted incorrectly, that'd be better than this spineless pretending it never happened. If a business pretends it never makes mistakes rather than admitting and fixing them, that is a massive red flag that it is being led down a path towards failure.
What's really annoying is that I signed up to DM a game tomorrow thinking I'd have access to this book. Now I either have to spend time with Hasbro's DNDbeyond customer service hoping to get them to honor their advertisement (mistake or not), or write stuff from scratch.
Taking my chances with CS might as well be screaming into the void, so it's off to writing I go....

What I don’t get is why any of you are surprised? After all of the recent fiascos of terrible content, not meeting release dates and the explosion over the OGL, why on earth did you think it would be a magically perfect release for this product?
Sorry for the confusion. I didn't realise that they'd not met release dates before. I don't usually pre-order. I was surprised because the product said it would be available on the 7th, I believed it, and then it wasn't available on the 7th as claimed. Every time I've ordered something from here before, I've got the thing I've ordered when I expected to get it. This was a subversion of my expectations based on my prior experience, which is why I was surprised.

I actually think they've been very good about release dates before. The only time or two I think things were pushed back, they announced it. (And if I recall, it's only been due to printed books being late because of the paper shortage that was really bad for a while.) I've pre-ordered DDB copies of just about everything and I don't recall this happening before with any of them. Likely someone made a mistake with the store info, but rather than admit to it, they are just gaslighting and pretending it never happened, which, in my opinion, is a much worse sign than just saying "Sorry, we goofed."

EDIT: Having seen the screenshot from this thread (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/general-discussion/164012-i-bought-keys-from-the-golden-vault-and-didnt-gain) - urmph - I can see the confusion. And definitely folks who bought it before the screenshot was changed should be honored or refunded.

Isn't changing the release from 7 to 21 Feb without notifying those that already made the purchase kind of illegal? Like bait and switch?

Pre-ordered. Digital only. Can add to confirmations it (digital only) stated 7th Feb right up until it didn't.
