I’m in a party of level 11s, and recently someone who’s character died made an almost similar copy of my Druid. So I’m changing class/race as I can be competitive and like having my own spot in the party.
My question is, what would be a good class to fill the party to help it the most? The party types are below. I got the go ahead from the DM as I’m going through a metamorphosis of sorts.
Just to give an idea, everyone in the party has died at least once, but me, so I’m the only one with character continuity from the beginning of the campaign. So, I prefer something tough to live through our DM.
Stay with the same character and innovate, assert dominance.
If not just do a Circle of the Land druid and be the best flavor of diet wizard you want to be.
Second option, multiclass into cleric and take light or trickster domain. Light gives you frontline support abilities with some spicy damage spells and divinity meanwhile trickster greatly extends your range to cast spells safely through divinity while most of its spell list is great.

Tabaxi-Barbarian/Path of the Beast
Fairy-Druid/Circle of Wildfire
Tabaxi-Ranger/Drakewarden
Eledrin-Cleric/Tempest Domain
please give thoughts!

Pretty solid ideas. I thought about staying the same, but wanted to change some things up.
Some ideas :
Assassin (rogue skills). Bugbear? Goblin? Human?
Elven/fairy Eldritch Knight 11 / Wizard 9 (frontline / wizard, 3 attacks base).
Human Divination wizard - because you have no wizard and this is the best school. Variant human extra feat: lucky.
Dwarven Cavalier (i.e. dwarven defender). Protection fighter.
Drow Bladesinger.
Polearm master kensei monk. Tortle.
Grung necromancer.
Yea I was thinking some spell caster with frontlines as well. Eldritch Knight/Wizard I’m going to have to look at, that seems interesting.
I did look at bladesinger, but I leaned more for warmage.. cuz of the initiative and I can use mage armor and 16 dex with it fairly well.
