New to game. Wanting to roll a reborn but cant find how to select it in the character creation. What steps do I need to take to open the option please?
Do you either own Van Richten's Guide to Ravensloft or The Reborn lineage on D&D Beyond? If you're really new to DDB and own no content, that's the common realization. For paid remedies you can buy VRGtR in the marketplace, but there's a much less expensive option if you just want the Reborn lineage. On the product page for VRGtR, you can scroll to the bottom of the page an you'll find content from the book available for piecemeal / a la cart purchasing, I think a lineage is $1.99.
If you really don't want to pay for a character option and own VRGtR in print, the gothic lineages are not hard to create in DDB's homebrew tools and the homebrew subforum can give you good guidance on how to accomplish that.
If you do own the book or lineage content here, and it's not showing up in character generation, check your entitlements, they sometimes take a while to sync up with your account or need to manually be prompted. You do this by going to your "you" button on the upper right of this sight, if you're on the web, clicking the "my account" option and then the "marketplace" tab.
I’m really mad I went to my local gaming store and bought the player handbook and the ravenloft book just to find out I cant build my build on here because I bought physical copy’s

It's entirely possible to add any race via homebrew, and as long as it isn't published, it doesn't matter if it's something already in a book, it's perfectly allowed. It's actually a cost-saving measure suggested for those with access to the physical books.
The hard way is to learn to use the homebrew tools and manually integrate the physical book yourself with the digital tools. It will take some time, but you will learn the ins and outs of Beyond and what this digital toolset is capable or incapable of. There is guide on the homebrew subforums on how to use the homebrew tools.
The easy way is to go back to the store and join your local D&D community and ask for help. Hell, if you are too shy to talk to people in real life, you can join any online community and ask there. If you ask nicely, a kind GM will let you access their digital tools, but depending on what they use, it may or may not be on Beyond. Beside the community on Beyond, there are also communities on Reddit and Facebook as well, and I am sure there are plenty more communites on various other social media platforms.

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
This isn’t possible you have to buy the whole book
It used to be, but they took down the piecemeal option around the start of the year.
[insert repetitions of the "how dare WotC take piecemeal purchases away, I hate them, this is proof they're going to fail" rant below]

How do I do that I’m new to this
You want the hard way or the easy way?
