I'm not sure if this is a done topic, but is there any current (and legal!) tool out there to help me convert my D&D Beyond PCs (and those of the players in my campaign) into Fantasy Grounds XML format?
If not, is it legal to try and dissect the content of a D&D Beyond Character, somehow, and write my own converter for personal use only?
My last use of D&DB + Fantasy Grounds was over a year ago and there wasn't anything to do the conversion. FG was picky about things and it was easier to build them in the app itself vs importing. Which is a shame because D&DB character sheets are the best.

I 100% agree that the DNDB character sheets are superb. I love the way you can level up and down, add stuff, take it away, all really easily and without ending up with a broken PC. I do a lot of refactoring of PCs when designing them (and when playing them if I can get away with it!) and nothing is as good as DNDB for that.
But, currently, and probably until Wizards release the DNDB VTT, we use FG for our weekly games. I just want a way to keep the two in sync.
The only vtt I know that can go backwards into dnd beyond, is foundry. But that's a new vtt to buy and the addon that puts the info back into dndb is a subscription one. As far as fantasy grounds goes, once you export your character, that's it

Hello all,
I'm not sure if this is a done topic, but is there any current (and legal!) tool out there to help me convert my D&D Beyond PCs (and those of the players in my campaign) into Fantasy Grounds XML format?

Thanks in advance!

Meanwhile, roll on the Wizards VTT!

You can try this one, not used FG in a long time (since unity came out), but this seems to be based off of the one I used back then.
Beyond to Fantasy Grounds Character Interchange (beyond2fantasygrounds.com)
Just tried it and at first blush it looks like it gets the most of it right. Certainly simple.
Thanks heaps!

Follow-up question: Is there a way to sync back in the other direction? That is:
Cheers!
