I've got to ask why you even want to know. Because you're not going to get to talk to them, I can tell you that straight up. The people who make those kind of licensing agreements don't talk to random people who have to ask what their identities are on internet forums, they talk to people who have their people set up a meeting with the correct department at WotC.

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
All kinds of folks are involved in licensing decisions - corporate executives, lawyers, marketing folks, etc. These are incredibly complicated and difficult decisions with lots of moving parts, and likely require the input and approval of a significant number of people.
Fortunately at least someone in that chain of command has some taste, otherwise we might have missed out on the absolute delight that was Honor Among Thieves.
Also, Baldur's Gate 3 is ******* phenomenal and previous D&D games don't come even remotely close to this one -- and it's only Early Access. The tidbits we've had from the full game due for release August 3rd has been nothing short of mindblowing.
You're entitled to your opinions, of course, but I don't understand you. Not one bit. Now, don't get me wrong, I can appreciate not liking the style of game, and such as. But you're going beyond that. So I can guarantee that if you ever do speak to "somebody in charge" to complain that games like this (that's nearing Elden Ring's level of success without even being released yet!!) aren't "worth shit" - they will just laugh at you.
Anyway, yeah, these forums aren't read by anyone from the main WotC. You should probably try the actual WotC website. Best of luck.

Amusingly, there was near-universal agreement that NWN1 was objectively meh - a couple of expansions were good, though - and DDO is so bad. It's so bad I struggle for words. It's a horrid game that only exists as a thin veil for constant microtransactions. It's the vilest, most villainous piece of software I've ever seen, and I've had to format harddisks more than once due to virus.
So .. there's that.

I think the only thing that held Honor Among Thieves back was including Dungeons and Dragons in the title. I’m willing to bet that that turned people away from watching the movie, really only encouraging the fans and those willing to give it a chance. PS, amazing movie and I’m still floored with glee that both Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez were in it.

As far as this next revision of 5e goes, you are far from being the only person that has said they will pass on it. It is hard to imagine myself moving over any time sooner than a year after, if at all.
I think you have two problems here, and, if you will allow me to be a bit blunt, I think maybe it might help you to realize those problems could be related.
The first is you want to play an in-person D&D game and are dissatisfied that digital options do not live up to what you can get out of playing D&D ("know [sic] one to play with , is why I so heavily rely on video i suppose.").
The second--you want to micromanage how other people play the game. You are complaining about how Baldur's Gate 3 has options you do not feel like engaging with--but plenty of players do wish to engage with... and your conclusion is "rather than me avoid those things, they just should not exist in the first place." You are complaining about changes made to the game which make it easier for players to play the exact species-class combination they want to play. You are complaining about a very well received movie because it did not match your specific, limited vision of D&D.
Often those two traits are congruent--the second can exacerbate the first by disincentivizing folks from playing with you. Since its very beginning, D&D has been a game about folks coming together and creating a shared narrative. That is its biggest strength and its biggest selling point--you and your friends live out an infinite number of fantasies together, limited only by your imagination and your interactions with the other folks at the table.
Just something to consider if you want to try and work on changing your fortunes and finding folks to play with. It is a lot easier to find a group if you do not artificially limit yourself by drawing hard and fast lines in the sand about what D&D should or should not be.
I guess what finally pushed me over the edge is lately there has been rumors which were confirmed today, that Multi classing has changed from 5th edition rules, and Their using Tasha's Rules IN regards to racial starting attributes. Ok yea maybe its minor, Shit! alright picking up my binky and walking away
Well, it seems easy enough to just put the score bumps where they would traditionally go. And as for multiclass removing the ability score minimums, again you could just choose not to play that way. Honestly, it seems to me that will two ways. It will either create a trap option for people who multiclass into wizard with an 8 int and don’t realize why their spells suck. Or let everyone dip into fighter for action surge. And maybe some folks eill be cheesy by playing up through the level cap, then respec into a multiclass build that only comes online at level 12 without having to go through a bunch of awkward levels. But in any of those cases, it’s no skin off my nose. Someone wants to do that, they should go for it. I’ll be over here with my single class character, and we can each have fun the way we like. I’m still not seeing why it’s a problem if someone else plays differently than you or I might choose to play.
Although with the number of available DMs vs Players, you can probably do alright as a DM. (“The only race allowed is human, there are no spellcasters, and long rests take a week.” Players: Sign me up coach!)
