I have my players roll 4d6 multiple times ( in front of if needed) and they take the first set of rolls that has nothing lower than a 9 and at least 3 rolls of 13+. This allows them to multiclass if they want, gives them decent starting stats and frequently allows non fighter classes to actually get one or two feats rather than ASIing themselves to death to get decent stats.
