So I was rolling up a wizard character for a new campaign and I couldn't help but notice Silvery Barbs is listed as a cantrip on dndbeyond. I am understandably confused as a) I have not purchased the relevant material and therefore should not have access to the spell at all and b) my DM generally has Silvery Barbs use a second level spell slot (to compete with Misty Step) precisely because it's such a powerful spell. The idea of it being a cantrip broke several brains around my table and we are all wondering if this is a bug? I'm not sure what's going on here, I haven't been able to find anything on this specific issue.
It's not isolated to just me though, the arcane trickster rogue had it listed as a cantrip for him too.
If anyone knows what's going on, please respond! It wold be much appreciated.
Unfortunately I don't think that's the case, this character was for an upcoming campaign which I hadn't joined on dndbeyond yet. The arcane trickster rogue is from my current campaign, where I'm playing a bard. As such, someone else's homebrew couldn't be affecting it.
This is also consistent throughout all my characters who can access silvery barbs, regardless of their status in a campaign or not. I'll message my friend and ask him to make a new character just to check if it's something in my account that's messing everything up. If it is, then that will have been rather embarrassing ^_^"
Edit: Yep, it didn't show up on his sorcerer. Turns out I forgot to fill out the spell level field when bringing over my physical books (I'm broke af and can't pay for them twice) and it defaulted to cantrip. Well that's embarrassing XD.

Someone in your campaign has made a homebrew version and made it a cantrip.
Birgit | Shifter | Sorcerer | Dragonlords
Shayone | Hobgoblin | Sorcerer | Netherdeep
Yep. Silvery Barbs should be a 1st level spell. Or a 2nd level homebrew from your DM. So, as pocketmouse wrote, someone has the wrong homebrew active.

Thanks for the help though!
