I’m running Dragon Of Icespire Peak for my party and their character backstories have something to do with other locations in the forgotten realm. (One character has had her father kidnapped in the Thay lands. Another is part of a spy organization from the silver marches) can anyone point me to content that could help me run campaigns or set up campaigns in these places?
The Forgotten Realms wiki really is a fantastic resource. At least in my case I've found that pulling individual things I think are cool out of a region often works fine regardless of what era that particular person or event is officially set in. There are exceptions of course for the bigger NPCs and events, but often mixing and matching eras has proven to be fun for me.

Sword Coast Adventurers Guide would be the main 5e resource, although Storm Kings Thunder would also help.

The last is a 3e product, but you can adapt to 5e fairly easily. Also note, it's almost 100 years out of date by DaleReckoning.
Also this link should provide a lot of info for you.
