Hey guys, I die a lot in my campaigns. I was wondering if there was a character that can cast spells that you would recommend for someone that dies a lot? Thanks

Zealot Barbarian is awesome if you love making reckless decisions and dying alot. High HP from Barbarian d12 die, half damage from Rage, and no component cost to being resurrected. Can't cast spells, but you do get a baby version of Divine Smite
I usually play warlock and I just die in combat or by making stupid decisions lol :)
This isn't something a single class is geared to. It's a player problem, without meaning anything bad about you.
Your characters die in combat so I'm curious how you play them in combat. Are you sending your characters into situations that they aren't built for? Like a wizard running into melee all the time? I think the answer is sorting out what playstyle you enjoy in combat and then picking classes that excel at it.
Just to be sure, is there any chance you are playing with a DM that runs a brutal game? Do the other characters die as often?
They are the only table group I have access to, and also they are my friends so it is in good spirit. I just want to get a build that can get back at them

So what’s the problem with other class abilities recharging on a long rest, or have I interpreted that wrong?
So say if you were a sorlock. Only the pact magic slots would recharge on a short rest, and the sorcerer spell slots would recharge on a long rest. The same would go for a Paladin warlock. This is in place to limit the OPness of the sorlock

Try looking up some optimizing build guides on the web, and maybe some 5e combat strategy? Maybe even try a little meta/ min/max strategies?
I know these are frowned upon in most instances, but since your asking here these options may help if not taken to extremes.

Paladin - Warlock multi if your DM allows it
Dm does allow it but only pact slots recharge on a short rest

1. I’ve never played Wizard and I never will because of it’s low hit die and it’s spell book mechanic
2. The dm doesn’t really run a brutal game, and the other characters don’t die as often (when I do die in combat they’re the ones killing me)

I mean, if other players are killing you then you’ve got bigger issues than character design that need to be addressed.
Ok but now it is some sort of running joke that I need to die of everything

The best way to stop dying so much is find another group to play with. If other PCs are killing you, then that table sounds like bad news.
OR you're doing something stupid that makes them want to kill you.
